Enhance Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers
If you feel self-conscious about dental chips or cracks, or stubborn intrinsic stains, porcelain veneers can transform your smile. Dr. Stephen S. Garner and Dr. Thor G. Thorson can place these thin shells over the surface of your teeth, masking minor flaws beneath. At our Yuma, AZ, dental practice, we offer a variety of veneer materials but recommend IPS e.max® porcelain to qualifying patients, for long-lasting and natural-looking results. We can custom craft your veneers to match the natural sheen of your smile and complement your features.
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells that are bonded to the front surface of teeth. They can conceal a variety of cosmetic flaws, including chips, dental discoloration, and minor misalignment. At Gila Ridge Dental, we typically use e.max material to craft our veneers, which is a form of specially treated ceramic that is thinner, but more durable than traditional veneer material.
We recommend IPS e.max porcelain veneers to qualifying patients, for long-lasting and natural-looking results.
The superior aesthetics and strength of e.max veneers make it possible for patients to enjoy their new smile longer. These veneers are designed to blend seamlessly with your smile, reflecting the translucency of natural teeth. In addition, this material typically requires less preparation prior to placement, so we can preserve more of your healthy tooth structure. This can help to protect your smile in the long-term, and provides a more conservative approach to cosmetic alterations while still delivering outstanding results.
Are Porcelain Veneers Right for Me?
Porcelain veneers are a versatile treatment that can address several concerns, including:
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Minor dental misalignment or overcrowding
- Misshapen or worn teeth
- Intrinsic stains
While porcelain veneers provide dramatic results, we often incorporate treatment into a custom smile makeover to completely transform your smile.
The Treatment Process
During your consultation, your dentist can review your dental needs and aesthetic goals. He can also take diagnostic images using digital x-rays to precisely plan your veneers treatment. To ensure your comfort during any part of the process, we can administer a local anesthetic if needed.
Veneers typically require two office visits. During your initial appointment, we can prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of dental enamel. This can ensure there is enough space for veneers to fit comfortably in your bite. We can then take impressions of your smile, which will be sent to our trusted dental laboratory for veneer fabrication. Over the next two weeks, laboratory technicians can craft your custom e.max veneer, tailored to the shape of your smile and the sheen of adjacent teeth. While you await your final restorations, we can place temporary veneers for your comfort.
Once your veneers are complete, you can return to our office for placement. During your visit, we can remove your temporary veneers. We can then ensure your final veneers fit securely in your smile, without causing any form of malocclusion. If no modifications are needed, we can bond the veneers in place, revealing a new and enhanced appearance.
Our team is always available to answer any questions you may have regarding the procedure, your candidacy, and financing options. At Gila Ridge Dental, we accept third-party financing through CareCredit® and Lending Club® to make our treatments accessible to all patients.
