Relieve Pain and Protect Your Smile with Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy removes infected dental tissue and can eliminate the need for extraction. Although you may be apprehensive about this treatment, when you visit Gila Ridge Dental, you can lay your fears to rest. Drs. Stephen S. Garner, Thor G. Thorson, and Jason R. Boeskin use the latest technology, including dental lasers, to make the treatment more comfortable and efficient than ever before. Our Yuma, AZ, office uses CEREC® technology to provide same-day dental crowns, making it possible to complete your procedure in a single appointment.

Do You Need Root Canal Therapy?

A toothache is the most common indication of infection. Pain may be localized, or it could spread across your jaw. In most cases, it will be worse when you bite down or ingest cold items. In some cases, infection presents no initial symptoms, making it especially important to undergo regular checkups that will allow us to monitor your oral health. We will take x-rays to reach a completely accurate conclusion and determine the best approach to your treatment.

root canal

A root canal involves removing all soft tissue from within a tooth.

Advanced Treatment

During a root canal procedure, your dentist will manually remove all soft tissue (pulp) from the central chamber of your tooth and from your root canals. Then, after sterilizing the inside of the tooth and reshaping the outer structure, he will place a dental crown. Your tooth will be numb throughout the process for your comfort.

Virtually all of our patients who have had a root canal procedure performed elsewhere report that our treatment is significantly more comfortable.

Our doctors employ state-of-the-art tools to complete root canal therapy. Lasers can thoroughly eradicate bacteria more effectively than a traditional filing tool can.

Once he has addressed the inside of your tooth, your doctor will prepare the outside of the tooth for a dental crown. Next, he will take digital impressions of the tooth and upload them to our in-office CEREC machine. This system will then fabricate your crown using computer-guided tools. After ensuring that the crown fits as comfortably and precisely as possible, the dentist will secure the restoration to your tooth.

The Benefits of Advanced Technology

Root canal therapy is an important treatment since it is usually the only way to save an infected tooth. Our approach offers additional benefits over traditional methods. Lasers are remarkably accurate, and can completely eradicate bacteria.

Lasers also result in less impact on your tooth. Virtually all of our patients who have had a root canal procedure performed elsewhere report that our treatment is significantly more comfortable. With our accuracy and same-day restoration technology, you can leave your appointment with a completely restored smile. Our team can provide the precise treatment you need in order to avoid more invasive and costly procedures in the future.
