Instead of the typical two-day completion time, our CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) technology allows us to complete and place your dental crown in just one visit. This saves you time and prevents the need for a second visit to our office to restore your smile. With CAD/CAM technology, a digital impression is made that allows us to design your dental crown. The custom crown is then milled in minutes in our office.
During your same-day crown visit, we will:
- Examine your teeth and determine that a dental crown is best for you
- Remove decayed, broken or weakened portions of tooth
- Take a digital image of your mouth
- Make a 3D model using that image
- Create your dental crown based on the 3D model
- Mill your restoration from a block of tooth-colored material
